    • Nissan intends to tweak the VR30DDTT turbo V6 to 475 horsepower for a new all wheel drive 400Z (Z35)

An all wheel drive twin turbo 400Z? That sounds awesome but they should call it a 400ZX. Reports are that the VR30DDTT twin turbo V6 motor you know and love from the Q50 and Q60 Red Sport models will be revised to 475 horsepower for a new Z sports car.

Unlike the 350Z and 370Z models the 400Z would have all wheel drive. Any info beyond that is anyone's guess.

If Nissan keeps it light and offers a manual they will have something special on their hands. If not, they would just make an imitation GTR.

A Japanese blog fueling these rumors states Mercedes might partner with Nissan on this car in a similar manner to BMW and Toyota partnering for the new Supra. Why that would be necessary when Nissan is flush with cash and already has the engine necessary is anyone's guess.

We will hopefully have some concrete details from Nissan soon.

They could do so much to make the car epic(call it the zx like you said) and you know they are just going to $#@! it up. Put a cvt in it or something to neuter it. The concept picture looks great. As long as they keep casting the turbos to the block I am fine with it Click here to enlarge It will forever be limited in potential ;(

Have you seen Nissan as of... the last 10 years?

Both 10 years old and the only other cars they've made in the meantime have been CVT trashcans on wheels though? Hence why I'm worried.

This is a sports car in the vein of the 350, 370, etc. Why would you be worried when they never paired a Z with a CVT?

Just put a proper manual in it like the good old nissans, then it'll be a proper sports car. Problem solved. Click here to enlarge

It's Nissan, I've lost faith. I don't think there are very many people who worked on the R35 or 370Z left at the company considering it's been a decade since they were released. Considering how little the brand has been offering enthusiasts, I'm not putting it out of the question. Or they could implement drive by wire steering or brakes, or just automatic only. Really there is a lot that could go wrong.

I never thought they would bring the GTR to the USA so let's have some faith.

A new Z has awesome potential.
