    • Toyota GR Supra independently tested Nurburgring laptime: 7:52.17

Sport Auto in Germany got their hands on the new A90/MK5 Toyota Supra and did their usual supertest with it. That includes taking to the Nurburgring where the test driver wrings out the best lap he can out of the car.

What did Sport Auto get from the Supra? A 7 minute and 52.17 second laptime.

Is it a stellar time? No, not by today's standards but it is just a tick quicke than what Sport Auto measured the F87 M2 Competition at which was 7:52.36.

The BMW E46 M3 CSL managed a 7:50 sixteen years ago.

The Supra wore Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for this test.

Really begs the question what BMW is doing with the M2 Competition and Supra. During the Supra's lap it looks like it runs into the top speed limiter which definitely hurts the time, but still... Are the cars just too fat and slow?

The M2 needs a diet, the Supra needs the S55, and both need an optional r-compound tire for track work.
