    • Comparing the AMS Performance Alpha 9X Nissan GT-R turbo kit output to FBO and stock

So just how big of a difference does a built VR38DETT with an AMS Alpha 9X turbo make over stock? Well, it is literally night an day. We are talking more than double the stock output and this is why it is so hard to gauge the output of GT-R's as they range from mild to wild to extreme.

This chart illustrates the difference well. You have a stock GT-R at 535 awhp. Then an FBO (full bolt on) example at 652 awhp. Add in the AMS Alpha 9X setup on a built motor and things truly get nuts at 1146 awhp:

To be honest, 1146 awhp is hardly even extreme for a built motor GT-R. It is a very nice setup though:

      ALPHA 9X turbos
AMS built 3.8 with Alpha cams (stock head ports)
      ALPHA race IC
      ID1700CC injectors
      Dual Brushless ALPHA pumps
      Greddy 94mm Exhaust
      Shep 1K trans
      E85

Most us will be happy to see half that output let alone quadruple digits.

Something tells us the new Supra will never approach filling the GT-R's shoes as a mod platform and or that reason it still stands alone at least as a Japanese tuner platform.
