The 992 generation reveal of the Porsche 911 Turbo is imminent. Porsche is giving journalists rides in test mules so they are pretty much just wrapping up formalities. The 2021 911 Turbo S is expected to provide 641 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque according to various reports. That works out to 650 metric horsepower or PS. This is of course routed to all four wheels through an 8-speed PDK (dual clutch) transmission. Is this enough for the 992 Turbo S to take on a McLaren 720S or Ferrari Pista? No, but the 911 Turbo is getting a healthy bump because those models exist. Porsche may even sandbag a bit but the 992 Turbo S likely will be a high 13X trap speed car in the 1/4 mile. The 992 Turbo S will get an increase of 61 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque over the 991.1 Turbo S. How is this achieved? With larger VTG turbochargers, more boost, a reworked intercooler system, and reworked exhaust. There are more details we are of course missing and things can change before the official debut. We will have more details then but the 992 Turbo S powerplant is a nice if modest improvement to the 3.8 liter twin turbo flat-6 we already know and love.

As per the usual with Tesla, we have a lot of hype and little substance. It seems Elon Musk has his fingers in every cookie jar today and Tesla is not focused. Maybe they will deliver what you see here (along with their Roadster and increased Model 3 production) but this Tesla Cyber Truck is going to generate some controversy. On paper, it sounds cool: The three models seem quite powerful and reasonably priced: Here is how a Ford Raptor would stack up: As with most Tesla products, everything sounds amazing on paper. The technical specs are impressive. Will they actually deliver it though? And what about the styling? It is as if someone was inspired by the Vector W2 and Delorean DMC-12 having a truck baby: You can supposedly order one now for 2021/2022 delivery but don't hold your breath: https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck

Way back in 2010 BimmerBoost published an article titled, 'There is Only One, M1.' In that article the explanation as to why BMW protected the M1 moniker (why the 1M exists) and why the M1 standalone M model was such a milestone for BMW M were provided. Sadly, since its debut in 1978 BMW has yet to build another mid-engine sports or another M1 halo car. A standalone BMW M car may again be on the table. Markus Flasch, the CEO of M, said something amazing; Well, it's about time! BimmerBoost made the case for such a vehicle back in 2014. Modern BMW stated numerous times they would not do it and the disappointing 'i8' certainly did not fill the void. If BMW can make an M variant of every SUV and lose truckloads of money on the 'i' brand they can finally deliver the Ultimate Driving Machine. If not now, when? If you want BimmerBoost's advice BMW (so you do not screw this up) stick the S63TU engine architecture in the lightest all wheel drive and mid-engine package you can deliver with a dual clutch transmission. Add a manual option if you want to make a statement. That would be a better idea than screwing around with kidney grill shapes and destroying your iconic design language. Nobody would object to calling the car specified above an M1.

The new Supra is stealing all the headlines despite not being a true Supra successor. Nissan has a chance here to bring something to market in the segment that not only is more fun to drive but a true successor to one of the brands' iconic sports cars. The Z has a storied history and Nissan would not screw this up or sell out. Would they? Nissan previewed what they have in mind with the Project Clubsport 23 which features a VRD30DDTT swap. A new 370Z with a twin turbo powerplant and low curb weight sounds like fun. The Nissan test mule you see was spotted with a MKV Supra so that will be the benchmark. Do it Nissan. Show Toyota how to properly produce an icon.

Every RWD car that makes above 600whp will do that when pushing it under 60mph.
